What to Expect / FAQs

Everything You Need for Your Next Trip

Booking a Nemesis charter is a full service fishing experience. We provide the rods, reels, tackle and expertise to maximize your chances of catching a trophy while at the same time filling the cooler.

A typical day starts by picking up your crew at the Lampe Marina courtesy dock at 6 am, cruising out to prime fishing grounds, deploying our fishing arsenal and letting the action unfold. Any desired fish harvested are quickly placed on ice for freshness. At the conclusion of the trip, we fillet and bag your fish for you to take home and enjoy!

Do I need a fishing license?

Any individual age 16 or over needs a fishing license with a Lake Erie permit except designated fish for free days (See PA fish regulations FAQs).

Licenses and permits can be purchased a couple of ways:

Should I tip the mate?

Tipping the mate is customary and a compliment for a good days work. Typically tips range from 15 to 20% or $20 to $25 per person.

What is provided?

Everything you need to give us the best opportunity to catch fish
- Rods
- Reels
- Bait & tackle
- Cooler & ice for fish caught on the boat
- Fish cleaning
- All USCG safety equipment and devices
- Great attitude & service

When will I know if my trip has been cancelled due to inclement weather conditions?

Our #1 priority aboard the Nemesis is your safety. The captain monitors weather conditions before your trip and will be in contact with you to inform you of the most likely scenario. Typically a go/no go decision is made the night before a trip. If a trip is cancelled due to weather a full refund of the deposit will be made.

Can I bring more than 6 people?

No, the max we can take is 6 passengers, whether they are fishing or not. This is not our rule, it is how the U.S. Coast Guard licenses private charters. Most private charters operate under this type of licensing. If you have more than 6 people, you can charter more than one boat. If you have a large group and need help organizing multiple boats, please give us a call and we can help you get it all organized!

What is the refund policy?

To book a trip we require a deposit to hold your spot. If cancellation is made within 14 days of your trip, notify us and you can apply your deposit to another trip or request a full refund. Under 14 days there is no refund unless the trip is cancelled by us due to weather. There is no refunds for charters returning early for any reason including sea sickness.

Will we catch our limit of fish?

We will work hard and use our state of the art electronics, equipment, years of experience and know how to maximize our chances of catching the targeted species. We pride ourselves on our ability to catch fish during tough fishing conditions. Check out our Facebook fishing reports for what we are catching each and every trip.
